Last September Amanda took a trip to New York with some friends, here are her photos and comments: The trip was awesome. There is so much to do and see, and 4 days is not enough time. All the walking is very tiring, I think if you walked like that every day you wouldn't notice it too much. Even though we ate out a lot, I still managed to loose weight. That was pretty nice. Some of the restaurants we ate at were Nina's. It was a little restaurant on 46th between 5th and 6th avenue. I had a really good breakfast wrap with potatoes, sausage, eggs, and cheese. We ate pizza at Angelo's pizza next to the Ed Sullivan Theater. Their pizza was a little different than what we are use to, but is was very good. We stopped for a snack at Europa Café. One other girl and I didn't feel so good after that. When we were in Little Italy we ate at Casa Bella on Mullberry St. between Canal and Grand. I had the fettuccini alfredo which was the best I've ever had. We tried to stop for a snack at Serendipity, but we didn't have enough time. Other places were the Olive Garden and Planet Hollywood, and a few more that I can't remember. The restaurants in New York are just amazing. So many places to choose from, and the meals are very good. Wednesday
Wednesday we went shopping all around town. Shopping in New York is so amazing. Going to Macy's was pretty cool. You here about how big it is, but to actually see it is another thing. Looking at the windows I could picture the streets crowded, snow falling and watching the windows as the Christmas displays are run for the first time. When we were at Sak's it was strange to see a dog walking through the store. The only time we see that is if a person has a guide dog. There were so many stores that were very expensive to shop at, but I was surprised at how many stores were more reasonable in price, like Macy's.

Thursday we saw Regis and Kelly. We tried to get tickets for David Letterman, but couldn't. Thursday night we saw Chicago the Musical. Chicago was so awesome. You felt like getting up and dacing throught the show. Once usher took the stage everyone would start screaming. It was so weird to see him is a suit and sing different music than his albums. Chicaco was at the ambassador theator.
Friday
Friday we went on the downtown tour, where we could stop at different areas of lower Manhattan. Much of our time was spent at ground zero. We spent about 2 hours at the World trade center site. It was so hard to believe something so tragic happened there. I was quite sad to see the memorials at the fire station, and at a small building located in the fenced in area at the site. The cross was amazing to see. You here about all the things that happened on the news, but to see what they were talking about was something else. I can't imagine what it was like that day. The pictures going through my head while we were there is frightening. When looking down the streets all I could picture was people running for there lives with the look of terror on their face. Looking up at the sky and picture plane after plane hitting the buildings. I felt panic the majority of the time we were there. Such a strange feeling to have.
Saturday (Flickr Set)
Saturday we went to central park and took the horse and carriage ride. We also went on the uptown tour which took us from the west side of central park over to the east side of central park. Saturday evening was a dinner cruise on the Hudson River. The cruise was amazing to see the skyline lit up at night.
